Various Steel Strapping Options from Allstrap

Steel strapping is very important in the packaging business. Industries which deal with heavy duty appliances that need packing to be transported to another place, rely heavily on good quality steel strapping. Allstrap Steel & Poly Strapping has been a leading provider of quality steel strapping for years.

They stock a wide range of steel strapping and the customers can choose their strapping according to the nature of the application. These steel strappings come in different sizes. Apart from steel strapping they have a wide range of application equipment, seals, hand tools, power strapping machines and dispensers.

The most popular among steel strapping products are the Magnus and Apex Plus steel strapping. The Apex Plus has the capability of producing a higher break strength at thinner gauge than regular steel strapping.

The Magnus on the other hand is a heat treated and cold rolled steel strapping that has a good shock resistance for heavy duty applications. This is the most commonly used steel strapping. This medium carbon steel strapping has high tensile strength, whereas the Apex Plus is bound to produce higher break strength. Apex Plus is an industry favorite because it has proven to be cost effective and a better substitute especially for light and medium applications when compared to regular heavy steel strapping.

The sizes of the steel strapping from Allstrap range from 1.25”x.031 High tensile steel strapping to .625”x.020”. Apart from these kinds of steel strapping they also have the punched steel strapping from 1.25”x.031” and .75”x.020”. This kind of strapping comes as 20-24 coils per skid. The alternate side is punched with the same size hole in this kind of strapping. Another kind of punched strapping is that the center is punched and has a small/large hold in order to use with a screw or nail. These strappings are mostly used in construction businesses to brace concrete forms.

However, industry experts time and again favor poly strapping to steel strapping. With the advent of poly strapping, steel strapping has begun to lose favor. The main reason for this is that steel can rust when exposed to the elements. It also leaves a mark on the area around the strapping. But poly strapping is not only durable but very strong. When compared with steel strapping, poly strapping is cost-effective.  However, some experts feel that plastic strapping cannot be used for anything above 200 degrees. Though steel strapping may lose popularity, it will continue to be used for a variety of things in the industry.
