The PNSC-2 weighs about 9.5 pounds and it uses its duck bill nose to push the seal. The feed wheel pulls tension and the wide jaws help notch the seal in a combination procedure. The tool also applies about 700 pounds of tension during steel strapping applications. The tool is very easy to operate because there is a two-button control system. After every strapping cycle, the strap easily slides out. The PNSC-2 is very reliable and durable as the tool is composed of metal alloys. It can also withstand harsh strapping conditions.
In order to strap with the PNSC-2, safety precautions must be taken. All Signode tools come with a comprehensive safety and user manual. Signode insists on caution while operating any tool, even though they are simple and easy to operate. Wearing safety goggles is a must and safety gloves to protect the hand. There should be a safe distance from the tool and the cargo. The strap should then be threaded through the seal and the strap is wrapped around the load. Excess slack should then be removed and the opposite end should be pulled back through the seal over the top of the original strap.
The tool should be held in one hand and the strap in the other. The lever should then be used to lift the foot and the strap should be slid in. The tool should be slid in as far as possible in order to ensure a tight tensioning. When the desired level is reached the tool will automatically shut off. Now, the sealing button should be pressed to complete the sealing and the tool will automatically stop the sealing process. Cut the strap and then release.
